Dimitris Adamis, the children’s favorite director, playfully pulls the red ribbon off a festive gift and presents to the children—in his own direction and adaptation—“The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson”by Nobel Prize-winning author Selma Lagerlöf, on the children’s stage at the Little Horn Theater.
The show’s summer tour kicks off on June 23 !
In the early 20th century, teacher Selma Lagerlöf wrote this children’s story, which was also used as a reader in Swedish schools. A fairy tale full of poetry and beauty, a love of nature, humor, and emotion.
The mischievous, unruly and mischievous Nils, transformed into a dwarf by an elf, travels with Martin, his white goose, and a flock of wild geese over mountains and seas, plains and lakes, forests and rivers, harbors, villages, and cities.
On this journey, Niels discovers the secrets of nature and the lives of birds and animals, and learns to love, protect, and respect them.
Along with the wise wild goose Aka, the Fox, the Silver Pelican, the Feathered One, the Swift-winged Eagle, and the Great Butterfly, he comes to recognize the value of teamwork and the virtues of mutual aid and support.
The play tells children a lovely ecological fairy tale, now that we have a duty to talk to them about the environment and how to protect it.
Dimitris Adamis presents to children and adults—who are already familiar with the work—a cartoon adaptation a performance as light as a breeze that blows and smells as sweet as the trees in the dense, lush green forests.
The music for the performance is based on folk ballads and works by Scandinavian composers such as Grieg, Sibelius, and Gade.
From the very first minute of the show, the children will be enchanted by the Christmas melodies and songs and will welcome Christmas with color and joy.
