Twenty years after its premiere, Theodoros Atheridis’s comedy “A Bee in August” will be performed at the Lambeti Summer Theater starting July 4! The production is directed by Nikorestis Haniotakis, who is working with a cast of wonderful actors who will bring a breath of fresh air to summer evenings right in the heart of the city!

The comedy “A Bee in August,” after an extremely successful run both on stage (2004–2005) and on the big screen (2007), transports us to a vast and secluded beach. A shore you can only reach by boat! That’s where Haris arrives with his wife Vasoula, his German half-sister Hildegard, and his mistress Maria, who pretends to be deaf!
And just as everything is going smoothly, a bee stings Haris, who’s allergic! He suddenly swells up a lot—dramatically so—and appears in a completely different form! That was it… Haris is faced with his worst nightmare: his other self, which he had kept hidden for years. The group will go through some tough times and be put to the test off the grid, without water, without shade… Haris’s “frightened” alter ego will stir up his friends’ emotions, reveal secrets, lies, and truths, and upset the fragile balance on the beach…
Synopsis: Haris and his friends are on vacation at an idyllic, secluded beach. Suddenly, he is stung by a bee, which causes severe swelling and brings his “other self” to the surface. Haris’s slightly “chubbier” alter ego will insert itself between him, his wife, and his mistress, causing relentless panic among the group and nonstop laughter from the audience!
