To mark the recent release of the new album“I Was Never Here,”with lyrics by Thodoris Gonis and music by Christos Theodorou from Mikri Arktos, the two artists will take the stage at the Athenian Café Theater for three musical performances, accompanied by exceptional performers, Paris Kimionis, Emmanuela Niniraki, and Stratos Grintzalis, as well as distinguished guests: Giota Nega, Pantelis Thalassinos, Fotis Siotas, and Ioulia Karapataki.
Title of the performance:“I Was Never Here—The Songs of Thodoris Gonis, Arranged by Christos Theodorou, at the Athenian Café Theater”— a musical anthology of the important lyricist’s body of work to date, featuring composer Christos Theodorou on piano and as musical director of the tribute, with performances by young singers as well as well-known and beloved friends and collaborators.
Songs co-written by Thodoris Goniswith prominent composers (N. Xydaki, Chr. Nikolopoulos, P. Thalassinos, S. Xarchakos, O. Peridis, S. Malamas, G. Andreou, F. Siota (among others) will take center stage at the Athenian Café Theater, and, of course, songs from the lyricist’s recent collaboration with the composer.
Three evenings filled with music and songs that we continue to sing, from the heart and with a powerful message: the words of our beloved lyricist.
