Aliki Theater

Information

The Aliki Theater is a unique historic site in Athens and one of the most important, centrally located theaters in the heart of the capital. It began operating as a dance hall in 1935 and was later converted into a movie theater in 1949.

Since 1971, it has served as the theatrical home of the beloved Greek actress Aliki Vougiouklaki, after whom it was named.

It was completely renovated in 2006. Over the years, great actors have graced its stage, and it has been honored by leading directors of Greek theater.

In recent years, performances—musicals and comedies—have been staged there, earning applause from audiences and critics alike.
