The longest-running show in Greece is back—and more “criminal” than ever!
Nine years after the last murder at Antonis (Tony) Lepouras, the Greek audience’s beloved “Hairdryer for Murderers” returns with a totally new look—fresh and hilariously funny! The brilliant comedy by Bruce Jordan & Marilyn Abrams, which premiered in Greece back in the last century (1999!!!) and ran uninterrupted for 13 consecutive years until 2012, is back starting Wednesday, October 13, at a new venue!
“Hair Studio Antony” is moving to the Lambeti Theater on Alexandras Avenue, with a new production directed by Nikorestis Haniotakis, while the wonderful adaptation is once again by Thodoris Petropoulos. This year, the show becomes fully “interactive” and lets everyone join in the “fun”! It engages more with the audience, converses with them, challenges the alibis, and exchanges views and suspicions with the audience regarding all four suspects.
Who is Amalia Tsalikoglou’s killer, after all? The talented, cheerful hairdresser Tony (Ioannis Apergis), the wealthy Mrs. Hatzipatera (Jenny Theona), the bubblegum-chewing assistant Sophie (Danae Michalaki), or the eccentric Leonidas Petrovas (Zisis Roubos)? Behold the great mystery! This year, it could be any one of them, because Police Inspector Stavros Stavrakos (Dimitris Makalias) considers them all suspects! Including his brilliant (?) assistant, Panagos (Haris Chiotis)!
A brief recap of the plot: The story takes place at the “Studio Antony” hair salon, somewhere in Athens. One day, the building’s owner, who lives on the top floor, is found murdered, and suspicion falls on the salon’s employees and customers. The audience is invited to find the killer, resulting in a different ending every night!
