As part of Stages Network\u2019s Theatre Talks series, actress Vicky Stavropoulou discusses the play \u201c\u201cDads with Rum\u201d by Michalis Reppas and Thanasis Papathanasiou,\u201d which is running for its fourth season starting in October at the Aliki Theater, directed by Stamatis Fasoulis.<\/p>

The popular actress spoke enthusiastically about the show\u2019s fourth consecutive year of success. She noted that it is a folk comedy that was so well-written 30 years ago. A few elements of the show have been updated. <\/p>

After all, the issue of human greed is a timeless one.<\/p>

He particularly emphasized that people need entertainment to escape from the pressures of their daily lives.<\/p>

\u201cThat\u2019s what people are looking for today,\u201d he said, emphasizing that this is also the reason for the show\u2019s continued success over so many years, especially in a theater with such a large seating capacity.<\/p>

Of course, a lot has happened since the play was written. Upsets, thwarted plans, countless new social media platforms, life reevaluations, and a great deal of chaos. The shift in class identity that many people sought began to bring losses instead of gains. Homes were \u201cclosed down,\u201d and retail chains suffocated their owners. The non-existent authorities, however, remained just as steadfast\u2014and perhaps even more criminal. The term \u201ccrisis of conscience\u201d is not often heard. It has been reduced to simply \u201ccrisis.\u201d <\/p>
