As part of Stages Network\u2019s Theatre Talks series, actress Sofia Vogiatzaki discusses the play \u201c\u201cDads with Rum\u201d by Michalis Reppas and Thanasis Papathanasiou,\u201d which is being presented forits fourth<\/sup> year, starting in October at the Aliki Theater, directed by Stamatis Fasoulis.<\/p>\nThe popular comic actress highlighted the play\u2019s four-year-long success, both in terms of the cast and the script, which she described as exceptionally well-written. A script that, as she aptly put it, has not lost its freshness 30 years after its premiere. She also said that the show\u2019s continued success is a blessing. \n\nRegarding the project, he referred to a certain segment of the population who \u201cwould kill their own mother and father for property and money.\u201d\n\nHe went on to say that it is a story written very cleverly and with a great deal of humor, featuring six characters with whom the audience can identify.\n\nShe also confided that a group of audience members told her they had seen the show nine times.\n\nThe discussion also highlighted just how much we all need laughter to be able to escape, even for a little while, from \u201cthe miserable reality we are experiencing worldwide.\u201d\n\nSo at the Aliki Theater, they serve up some wonderful \u201cRum Dads\u201d with a dash of poison and\u2026 whoever meets their end. The four million that Dad\u2014who has now left this vain world\u2014won on the lottery are looking for their heir. Two sons, two daughters-in-law, a neighbor who\u2019s a brilliant know-it-all, and a nightmarish nurse talk, argue, conspire, and sleep peacefully, weaving a sweet web of mutual destruction. \n\n“Dads with Rum” 2025.
