In his interview, Vangelis Hatzigiannidis talks about the development and conception of the play \u201cCAKE<\/strong>, \u201d<\/strong> which is being presented at the Emporikon Theater and directed by Thanasis Zeritis. As he explains, the play began in 2010 as a short one-act play as part of the 24 Hour Plays<\/em> initiative, in which writers and artists are challenged to create a performance in a single day. From that initial form, the text evolved while retaining its core: the observation of human behavior through everyday situations. <\/p>

The story unfolds in an apartment building, where a seemingly trivial incident leads four tenants to an impromptu meeting filled with tension, revelations, and twists. As the search for accountability progresses, personal insecurities, prejudices, and hidden desires come to the surface, leading the characters through an unexpected inner transformation. <\/p>

The author also discusses his relationship with the directors who stage his plays, emphasizing the importance of freedom of artistic interpretation. Each production, as he notes, offers a fresh perspective on the same text, allowing the work to be revitalized and take on different nuances over time. <\/p>

“CAKE” combines subtle humor, tenderness, and social commentary, transforming an everyday moment into an opportunity for deeper reflection on coexistence, responsibility, and the possibility of reconciliation.<\/p>
