Korina Legaki talks about her role in the musical theater production \u201cMARIKA\u2014They Told Me, MARIKA They Called Me, MARIKA<\/strong> They Took Me Away<\/strong>, \u201d<\/strong> currently playing at the Embassy Theater, where she portrays the character of Marika Ninou.<\/p>

In the interview, she explains that the performance does not attempt a strictly historical reenactment, but draws on real events, which coexist with fiction. Through this on-stage encounter between the two legendary Marikas, the legacy of the folk singer and the presence of women on the Greek stage are highlighted. <\/p>

Korina Legaki talks about the challenges of theatrical delivery for a singer, as well as the crucial contribution of Asteris Peltekis\u2019s direction, which allowed her to explore new means of expression. At the same time, she refers to Odysseas Ioannou\u2019s \u201cmagical\u201d script and Giorgos Andreou\u2019s music, which serve as a steady point of reference and security for the performers on stage. <\/p>

The performance is presented as a collective artistic gathering of people with a deep knowledge of and love for Greek song, creating a contemporary tribute to the women who have left their mark on our folk music tradition.<\/p>
