Starting in October, the Emporikon Theater will present Valeria Dimitriadou\u2019s new play, titled \u201cA Certain Void.\u201d<\/strong><\/p> \n\r\n

Following the great success of the multi-award-winning play \u201cAnd God Planted a Garden,\u201d<\/em> which ran for three consecutive years, as well as the play \u201cNinety<\/em>, \u201d<\/em> which was included in the Athens Festival program, Valeria Dimitriadou returns with her third play.<\/p> \n<\/blockquote>\r\n \n

Seven stories. Seven different people. <\/strong><\/p> \n \n

A woman who has just given birth and is trying to cope with her new reality.<\/p> \n \n

A middle-aged couple living on their own for the first time\u2014since their children have left home to attend college.<\/p> \n \n

A single taxi driver who seeks solitude and freedom.<\/p> \n \n

A law student in his final year who decides to come out.<\/p> \n \n

A young musician with a disability who is searching for creativity and inspiration. <\/p> \n \n

A young woman struggling with the ravages of time. <\/p> \n \n

Each of them is immersed in their own reality, with their own questions, fears, and desires. <\/p> \n\r\n

Seven stories that unfold in parallel\u2014like internal one-act plays that interact with one another\u2014revealing that beneath the surface of \u201cnormality\u201d lies something fragile: a void that we all know exists, but find hard to admit.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p> \n \n

The void of disconnection. First and foremost with ourselves\u2014and, by extension, with others.<\/p> \n \n

With simplicity, humor, and emotion, the play\u2019s scenes strike a balance between everyday life and the existential quest, focusing on modern people struggling to find their voice and meaning.<\/p> \n \n

How easily do we succumb to the automatism of routine, letting life pass us by while we\u2019re absent? <\/strong>And when we are finally confronted with our loneliness, do we find the courage to face it\u2014or do we retreat into the safety of inaction? What if the world changed? What if it ceased to be as we know it, and our days were numbered? Would we remain the same? Would we remain unmoved, indifferent, afraid of change\u2014or would we revolt?<\/p> \n \n
