This is a historical moment that, as far as we know, has not been depicted in any other comedy in Greek theater. These events have been viewed from many angles, but perhaps for the first time, we see them through the eyes of two leading playwrights, Alekos Sakellarios and Christos Giannakopoulos.

“The comedy *The Right, the Left, and Mr. Pantelis*is cathartic—and, in fact, it’s the only one ever written about the December Riots!”

“This is a timeless work! A realgem!“ says the director.

The two playwrights have skillfully brought the social realities of the postwar era to the theater stage, as the grim reality of a nation is reflected within the four walls of a middle-class home that, like Greece itself, has been split in two.

“The Right, the Left, and Mr. Pantelis”is the second work in a potential trilogy, which includes the comedy “The Germans Are Coming Again,” written during the Civil War, and “Hard Landing,” which was first staged by Karolos Koun’s Art Theater and later, in the 1960s, was presented by Lambros Konstantaras’s theater company under the title “There Is Such a Thing as Honor,” which was later adapted into a highly successful film.

In the production at the Mikro Pallas, Stamatis Fasoulis plays Mr. Pantelis and Eleni Kastani plays his wife, Athina. Apostolos Kamitsakis plays Stavros, the right-hand son, and Giorgos Vourdamis plays Kostas, the left-hand son.

Mr. Sotiris, Mr. Pantelis’s friend, is played by Giorgos Depastas.

Despoina Polykandritou plays the family’s “maid,” Froso, and also sings the songs in the play.

Giorgos Koromilis interprets the civil guard and the national guard as two sides of the same coin.

The same is true of Fofo, the liberal, and Pipitsa, the nationalist, both of whom are portrayed by Maria Karava.

“The Right, the Left, and Mr. Pantelis” premiered in 1946, staged by the Kotopouli Theater Company at the Rex Theater, starring Vasilis Logothetidis.

%%GALLERY%%

Performance Dates & Times: Wednesday: 8:00 p.m. / Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 9:00 p.m. / Sunday: 8:00 p.m.

Group Reservations Department: 2111026277 & 210 2117240 ext. 305 ( weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) – email: reservations@a-th.gr

at the Theater of the Society for Macedonian Studies COMPLETED With more than 52,000 audience members over its two-year run in Athens, the hilarious comedy…

[489,488
post-45313","cpt_portfolio","type-cpt_portfolio","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","cpt_portfolio_group-thessaloniki","cpt_portfolio_group-tours-2025-2026
["GET
