Human exploitation, the plight of immigrants, sexist treatment of women, economic inequality, and power dynamics—the issues addressed by the play—have likely intensified in our time rather than subsided. “Unshaven Chins” returns after more than ten years, during which our country has undergone decisive changes, to provoke thought and stir the emotions, as if it were speaking directly to the here and now.

“Unshaven Chins” is a realistic social drama with existential and poetic undertones. Through humor and intense suspense, we follow “real” and familiar to us, with all their weaknesses, guilt, charm, absurdity, tenderness, and cruelty. Their secrets are gradually revealed, and with them, the tangled web of the story unravels piece by piece until the gripping finale. These are trapped men who lay their souls bare before the object of their desire, becoming both perpetrators against a woman and victims of their own masculinity. Unable to control their passion, they come face to face with their hidden, terrifying selves.

Director Giorgos Paloumbis is once again collaborating with playwright Yannis Tsiros (“Invisible Olga,” National Theater, 2011), and drawing on his experience staging contemporary realistic Greek plays, he creates a powerful production of this particular story.

Case:

Three men, hospital employees, work every day in their department in the basement wing. From the upper floors, they receive, sort, care for, and temporarily store the bodies of those who did not survive. They follow a routine of standard procedures. Tonight, however, a woman “arrives” to shake up their lifeless reality. Secrets, revelations, and conflicts will bring to light their weaknesses and base instincts. Crime, revenge, and guilt follow, and by morning, nothing will be the same.

at the Mikro Horn Theater The award-winning play *Unshaven Chins* by Yannis Tsirou (*Wild Seed*, *Invisible Olga*, “Four Eyes”), which was awarded the First Prize for New Playwrights in 2004…

[463,467
post-45113","cpt_portfolio","type-cpt_portfolio","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","cpt_portfolio_group-2021-2022","cpt_portfolio_group-mikro-horn-theater
["GET
