*Final Performance:<\/strong> Sunday, April 13, 2025<\/p>\n\n Vasilis Katsikonouris’s famous ” Makis<\/strong> ” is back for a second year<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n Joining him, of course, is the theater\u2019s iconic performer, Errikos Litsis, who will take the stage at the Apothiki Theater starting October 7 and will talk to us about the things that used to happen and no longer do\u2014but then again\u2026 you never know\u2026<\/p>\n\n Every Monday and Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n The story:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Grandpa is at home. His children have gone on vacation. Santorini, Paros, Mykonos\u2026. He used to go to Makronissos and Gyaros\u2026 <\/p>\n\n Now he’s all alone in Athens in the middle of this heat wave! With his obsessions, his frustration, and his fear. <\/p>\n\n He feels no nostalgia for the past, nor does he mourn\u2014he merely longs for: Just a little while longer.<\/p>\n\n Even if everyone and everything around him has him all figured out\u2026<\/p>\n\n But that distant, inexhaustible longing for life remains, and it won’t let him give up.<\/p>\n\n And when he does, he’ll make as much of a fuss as possible.<\/p>\n\n In this journey of his\u2014inside a room\u2014the \u201cunruly\u201d grandfather speaks to the silent, golden inhabitant of a glass jar.<\/p>\n\n The words, with their subtle power and irony, shatter the silence of the summer scene.<\/p>\n\n A lonely tango. A man who is both young and old at the same time, standing at the edge of one of life\u2019s steps, hesitates and tests his strength. <\/p>\n\n Across from him, the silent goldfish bears witness to an existential monologue about a deeper struggle: The grandfather makes a last-ditch effort to ward off the relentless march of existence.<\/p>\n\n Deeply self-deprecating and impulsive, an elderly man takes a look back at the suitcase of his life, unwilling\u2014but also no longer able\u2014to change anything.<\/p>\n\n In the empty house, all alone, he mocks everyone and everything\u2014and above all, himself.
